calm for the mind through massage for the body

about your appointment

The duration of the appointment will be agreed in advance. At the beginning of each appointment, some time will be spent on a verbal consultation to establish key information about your health. This makes it possible to adapt the massage to the individual.

Information gathered, and the appointment itself, is considered confidential.

Your modesty will be respected, uncovering only that part of the body that is being worked on.

There will be time for feedback before the end of the appointment.

types of massage

As described below, Eimear is trained in full body massage (where the client lies on a massage table) and in head/upper body massage (where the client is seated). At the time of making an appointment it will be agreed which form of massage will be used. Then, during the consultation, Eimear clarifies with the client how that massage can be tailored to suit the requirements and preferences of the individual.

holistic massage

This is form of body massage which incorporates an understanding of the whole person and the strong connections between body and mind. Developed from Swedish massage, it seeks to soothe inner as well as outer tensions and stress

indian head massage

For this treatment the client is seated and fully clothed. The tension hotspots of the upper body (e.g. scalp, neck, shoulders) are focused upon. Attention can also be given to the back and, particularly comforting, to the face.

japanese hand massage

This massage focuses on the hands with the client either sitting or lying down. It combines elements of shiatsu and reflexology to benefit the whole body through this simple and surprisingly relaxing approach.

advice for before and after your appointment

Do be sure to drink water before and after the massage.

Do avoid alcohol on the day (and night) of your massage.

Do not have a heavy meal before or right after the massage.

Do listen to your body after the treatment: if you feel like resting, rest; if you feel like fresh air, have a gentle walk.

Do not be worried by other effects that can sometimes arise e.g. altered emotional responses or dreams following a massage. Rather, take notice any such effects as you may wish to share them at a future appointment.
